Call +918356016828 about your driveway or drainage
Start with the problem, not the paving colour
Tell us whether you need a new entrance, a replacement surface, driveway repairs or help with water collecting near the house. We review thresholds, site levels, visible runoff routes, existing chambers and the intended discharge point before proposing the civil work.
A drain is not complete merely because a channel has been built. Its connection, capacity/design responsibilities and accessible maintenance points need to be established. We do not assume water may be diverted onto a road or neighbouring property.
What the scope may include
| Part | What needs defining |
|---|---|
| Existing surface removal | Limits, retained services, disposal and adjacent reinstatement |
| Preparation | Excavation, approved material, sub-base/base and specified checks |
| Surface | Material, thickness/specification, intended loading and finish |
| Water route | Levels, channels, chambers, connections and lawful outlet |
| Access during work | Vehicle/household arrangements, deliveries and protection |
Driveway contractors should price intended use as well as surface area. A pedestrian path and an entrance receiving heavier vehicles do not automatically need the same construction.
A real drainage snag in Aldona
On the 220 sq m Aldona family home, floor, driveway and drainage levels were recorded before excavation. An uphill interception drain directed runoff towards the agreed discharge point, and inspection chambers remained accessible.
At completion, a controlled water-flow test revealed ponding beside the entrance channel. We corrected the local paving fall and repeated the test before closing the snag. The owner received a drainage-maintenance checklist with the handover records. Read the Aldona summary.
The lesson is to check the installed route and finish, not just the drawing. A controlled test is useful for checking observed flow; it is not a guarantee against every future storm or blocked outlet.
What affects the price?
Area, existing condition, excavation depth, specified base, vehicle loading, surface material, access, disposal and drainage connections all matter. Civil drainage contractors also need the designed channel/chamber dimensions and connection responsibilities.
We measure the separate items instead of applying one all-inclusive paving rate to an uncertain site. Scope and exclusions · Construction costs.
Questions about paving and site water
Water pools near my entrance. Can you just add a channel?+
We first assess levels, the source of the water and a workable discharge route. A channel without a suitable outlet or a correction to local falls may leave the problem unresolved. The required design input depends on the site.
Can I keep using the driveway while you work?+
Sometimes a phased arrangement is possible. We need to consider width, safe access, deliveries and the restrictions on using newly completed work. If there is only one entrance, agree the temporary plan before booking.
Is replacing the paving enough if the ground has settled?+
Not necessarily. The preparation and cause of movement need assessment. A new surface over an unresolved base problem may need reopening. We distinguish surface replacement from deeper repair in the quote.
Will you check the drainage before the job is signed off?+
We agree relevant level/flow checks, accessible chambers and snag closure for our scope. Any restriction, pending connection or work by another party is recorded rather than hidden by a general “completed” label.
